Your Webcasting.com account lets you stream your video live over the Internet to any number of viewers anywhere in the world.
On-Demand Webcasting top
Your Webcasting.com account with storage space on our media servers. But why not host your videos on your own web server? There are three reasons:
- Streaming vs. Progressive - Web servers generally use "progressive download" which simply means when someone tries to watch your video, your web server tries to

The account you choose is based on the amount of bandwidth transfer and/or storage space you require. It is NOT based on how many people are connected at any given time. We have the capacity to handle any number of people watching your webcast at any given time and we do not limit the number of people who can watch. Rest assured! If you plan on 500 people watching and 1,000 tune in, our network will not shut anyone out.
FTP Access for Storage top
Your account comes with FTP (?) access. You can use any FTP program you'd like, including Smart FTP, to upload, download, and remove any of your videos from our system at anytime.
Custom Set Your Video Quality top
You can set your video quality (called 'bit rate') at anytime in your webcasting software.
Usage Statistics Updated Daily top
How many people are watching your webcasts? Where are they coming from? When are they watching? You can access detailed usage statistics at anytime through Webcasting.com's customer portal.
Encoding Software Compatible top
You can use either Windows Media Encoder or Microsoft Expression Encoder with Webcasting.com.

There are numerous templates available on the Internet that allow you to customize your video player.
Simulated Live top
Simulated Live is when you wish to webcast a previously recorded video at a specific time. For example, you can tell your audience to tune in at 8pm, and you can webcast to them a video which you made during the day.
Insert Your Own Ads top
Webcasting.com does not insert ads - but you can. If you're using advertising to help offset your operating costs, you can display ads in your webcast either directly in your video or by using playlists.
Create Playlists top
You can make playlists to show your audience a sequence of videos. With a playlist, a user would click to watch your webcast and be shown one video after another. An example would be a 15 second introduction video, your main video, and a video with credits rolling at the end.
Podcast Capable top
You can use your on-demand Webcasting.com account to host podcast videos.
DRM Capable top
DRM stands for Digital Rights Management (?). You can use DRM to only allow certain people to watch your videos (paying customers, employees only, etc.).
Multiple Camera Capable top
If you're webcasting an event and you have multiple cameras, you can!
Incorporate Still Images and Video Clips top
In addition to your normal video feed, you can switch to still images and video and audio clips. Both Windows Media Encoder and Expression Encoder have this capability.
Incorporate PowerPoint Slides top
You can mix in PowerPoint slides into your video. All you have to do is save the PowerPoint presentation as images and then use your webcasting software to mix them. Webcasting.com's Managed Services department has a PowerPoint integration service for customers who wish to outsource this.

You can incorporate closed captioning into your webcasts using your webcasting software. Webcasting.com's Managed Services department can also handle your closed captioning needs if you wish to outsource your efforts.
